Mississauga - The many careers accessed through apprenticeships were highlighted yesterday at the first annual Apprenticeship Career Connections (ACC) Fair, hosted by The Peel Halton Dufferin Training Board (PHDTB) and the Region of Peel, with support from Employment Ontario.
Sault Ste. Marie - Brampton area students can study at province's newest university without leaving home. Formerly an affiliated college of Laurentian University, Algoma University will become the province's 22nd degree-granting public university and is the first new university to be established since 2002.
Peel - Students will improve their reading, writing and overall learning skills at Summer Camp I Can, a four-week camp offered by the Peel District School Board from July 2 to 31. Camp is open to grade 7 to 10 students from all Peel board public schools and most secondary schools.
Mississauga - On May 8, the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board and the Peel District School Board will host the fifth annual Mission Employable 2008, a one-day conference and employment expo aimed specifically at Grade 12 students entering the world of work after graduation.
Brampton - Following the overwhelming success of last year's competition, the Brampton Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC) has launched BizPlan 2008, the business plan competition for high school students in Brampton and Caledon.
