Brampton - Region of Peel offices and non-emergency services will be closed for the Labour Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010. Region of Peel headquarters and offices will re-open for regular business on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010.

Brampton - The Region of Peel is offering residents a two-week Exemption Period for waste collection following Labour Day from Tuesday, Sept. 7 to Friday, Sept.17.

Brampton - Residents in the Cities of Brampton and Mississauga are reminded that there will be no waste collection on Monday, Sept. 6 due to the Labour Day holiday. Garbage and recycling (blue box, green bin and yard waste) will be collected one day later for the remainder of the week.

Brampton - Peel Regional Paramedic Services and Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services are building a new paramedic and fire station located at 6825 Tomken Rd. The 38,000 square foot facility will be shared among both emergency service units.

Brampton - Residents are reminded to take special care against West Nile Virus (WNV) infection this summer. Two mosquito batches collected on July 28 in a trap near Lakeshore Road East and Dixie Road in Mississauga have tested positive for WNV. These mosquitoes are the first that have tested positive for WNV in Peel region in 2010.
