York Region - Investigators working out of the York Regional Police Sexual Assault Unit have arrested Gary Demenint, 50, of Brampton in connection with a sexual assault on a 28-year-old woman in the Township of King.
Toronto - Carlos Guadamuz, operator of Glencar Construction Inc. in Brampton, faces five days in jail and fines totaling $2,000 for failure to deliver a contract and refund under Ontario's consumer protection laws.

Toronto - As part of a joint force initiative between Federal Investigative bodies in Nova Scotia and Ontario, four people involved in the importation of a substantial quantity of heroin were arrested. Vinh Thanh Nguyen (47) of Brampton is one of the four men.
Toronto - The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is probing the circumstances surrounding the death of a Brampton man, who died September 17, 2008 while in the custody of Peel Regional Police.
Toronto - The Director of the Special Investigations Unit has concluded that there are no reasonable grounds to believe that a Peel Regional Police officer committed any criminal offence in connection with the shooting of a 23-year-old man during a stolen vehicle investigation on May 25, 2008 in Brampton.
Caledon - On Thursday July 10, 2008, Caledon OPP responded to a medical assist call at a residence on Mayfield Road just west of Dixie Road in Caledon. A post-mortem examination has revealed that the cause of death was due to a heart condition. No foul play is suspected.
Caledon - A vehicle stopped for a R.I.D.E. spot check on Mississauga Road near King Street resulted in drug charges for several occupants of the vehicle. Charged are 31 year old Nam Luu of Brampton, 24 year old Peter Coyne of Brampton and 22 year old Adam Wood of Wallaceburg.
Toronto - The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is continuing its appeal for witnesses who may be able to assist with the probe into a shooting involving officers of the Peel Regional Police in Brampton on Sunday, May 25, 2008.
Caledon - The body of 18 year old, Ariel Besley of Brampton was discovered along the roadside of Old School Road in the Town of Caledon on the evening of Thursday, May 15, 2008. The cause of death has been determined to be by gun shot.
