Brampton - Congress of Black Women, Brampton Chapter (CBWC) presents their 21st annual "pre-Mother's Day Brunch". The brunch will be held at Chris Gibson Rec Center – 125 McLaughlin Road, Brampton on Sunday May 1st @ 12:30PM. This event is open to all, come out for a great afternoon of Caribbean food and entertainment and at the same time support a worthy cause.

GTA - The Canadian Women's Foundation, in partnership with Winners and HomeSense, and Rogers, has launched its annual national fundraising campaign Shelter from the Storm dedicated to ending violence against women. The campaign runs from April 11 to May 8, 2011 and features limited edition items in Winners and HomeSense locations across Canada.

Brampton - Celebrity Chef - Men Who Cook, a special fund-raising event hosted by the United Achievers' Club of Brampton, takes place on SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 2011 in the AUDITORIUM – Century Gardens Recreation Centre, 340 Vodden Street East, Brampton.The event starts at 6:00 PM (social hour and entertainment), 7:00 PM (food sampling), 10:00PM (Dancing).  Tickets are $40 each (includes 5 samples). Dress is semi-formal.

Brampton - Over the last 14 years, on numerous occasions, the issue of semestering Holy Name of Mary has been raised and has been opposed by parents, students and some teachers.  Please come out on Monday November 8th, 2010 at 7pm to the Catholic Education Centre at 40 Matheson Boulevard West in Mississauga, where a Board Administrative report will be presented in favour of making this change as well as a delegation opposing this change.
