Brampton - It's been called the toughest two minutes in sport. On Thursday, September 2, nearly 500 firefighters from the across the country will be in Brampton for the National Scott FireFit Championships. The four-day competitive event features a challenging course that requires firefighters to use the skills and strength they employ when responding to an emergency. There are both team and individual course relays for males and females.

Brampton - Almost two weeks ago now, three days of heavy monsoonal rains poured down on the people of northwest Pakistan, causing a level of devastation never before seen in the region. River banks burst, more than 60 bridges came tumbling down, and countless roads and buildings were washed away by the torrential rains. Most horribly, more than 1500 people lost their lives in this terrible tragedy. The United Nations is now estimating that 13.8 million people have been affected by the country’s worst-ever flooding – more people than the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti quake combined.

Brampton - Brampton City Council expresses its sympathy and concern for residents of Pakistan after severe flooding has killed 1400 people in the country‟s northwest region. More than three million people have been affected by the flooding, believed to be one of the worst in recent memory.

Brampton - The City of Brampton has been named to host the 2012 Ontario Senior Games Actifest. Brampton was selected as the event host by the Sport Alliance of Ontario and the Ontario Senior Games Association.

Brampton -Yesterday, a judge of the Ontario Divisional Court heard the City of Brampton’s request for leave to appeal the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) decision regarding the proposed high density development at the northwest corner of Sandalwood Parkway and Conestoga Drive.
