Rev. Don Nash – resident of

Heart Lake United Church celebrated its 21st Birthday in October 2006.  Without Rev. Don Nash this milestone would never have been reached.  It is rare for any minister to be with one congregation for 21 years from its inception, but in this case it is an incredible accomplishment and commitment since he started this Church with nothing carrying out services for many years at Terry Fox Public School in Heart Lake before even beginning to entertain building a church.  He spearheaded the effort to fundraise and build this church and, against all odds, succeeded.  Today you will see a magnificent structure dedicated to worship on Sandalwood Parkway. He is the best leader any Church could ever have and is an inspiration to all of us.

Don accepted and welcomed us - immigrants from the other side of the world, with another mother tongue, with a different background --- and because of that acceptance, we found a new extended family at Heart Lake United church.

Over the past 8 years, I have truly enjoyed Don`s fellowship and consider him to be a true friend.
Don has a natural flare for writing which is quite evident in the creativity of his weekly messages.

I am so happy to see Don Nash nominated as a Community Star. Who better to be nominated than Don. His dedication to his Church, family and friends is contagious and keeps people he meets coming back for more. His comment to everyone he meets, "Welcome to our home!"

What a great honour for this fabulous man! No one deserves it more than this man who is truly dedicated to his Church, family and friends. He has been through a lot of changes with his church and has weathered every storm along the way. His boat won't sink as he spirit keeps it afloat!

He is much deserving of this nomination, as he is dedicated, hardworking, caring and has a great sense of humour. I can always count on him, and am very lucky he is my dad.

I had the pleasure of working along side Rev.Don Nash a few years ago when the Heart Lake Summer Festival first started up. He was very considerate, caring and a joy to associate with. I am very pleased to see his name for Community Star of the Week, I think he should be the Community Star of the Month (at least).
