Brampton - In the spirit of Halloween, Peel Paramedics will be out at five locations in Peel encouraging children to stop by and pick up a glow bracelet and safety tips before heading out for trick-or-treating.

"We want to ensure that children and adults take the necessary precautions for a safe Halloween," said Peter Dundas, Director of Peel Regional Paramedic Services. "This annual initiative by Peel Paramedics has been well received in the past and we hope that safety continues to be a priority for the community."

On Tuesday, October 31, 2006 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., paramedics will be stationed at the following locations in Peel Region:

  • Goldcrest Public School, 24 Goldcrest Rd., Brampton
  • St. Francis Xavier School, 111 Bartley Bull Pkwy., Brampton
  • Clarkson Public School, 888 Clarkson Rd., Mississauga
  • St. Gertrude Elementary, 815 Ceremonial Dr., Mississauga
  • Zehrs Market, 487 Queen St. S., Bolton

"It's important that we educate the public even about the small things that can be done to prevent any incidents," said Randy Diceman, Public Awareness and Prevention Officer.

Peel Paramedics respond to more than 65,000 emergency medical calls every year. For more information about Peel Regional Paramedic Services, visit peelregion.ca or call 905-791-7800, ext. 3956.
