Sandi is this week's Community Star.  Sandi works with National Ovarian Cancer Association to reach women in treatment and bring awareness of ovarian cancer to the hundreds of women, in the Canadian Redesigners Association and within her own neighbourhood.

Sandi Gerrard - resident of Brampton

Sandi Gerrard is a member of the Canadian Redesigners Association (CRDA).  Together with Val Sharp (President), she has spearheaded the CRDA's Havens for Healing Project, an initiative that gifts women undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer with a redesigned room in their home where they will be able to rest and recover.  Sandi has been instrumental in enlisting the help of CRDA Volunteers right across the country for this national initiative.  She works with National Ovarian Cancer Association (NOCA) to reach women in treatment and bring awareness of ovarian cancer to the hundreds of women, in the CRDA and within her own neighbourhood.  Sandi even organized an internal fundraising drive in support of NOCA.

Ovarian cancer is often called the disease that whispers, because of the subtly of its signs and symptoms.  NOCA is proud to have Sandi on board with us to "Turn UP the Volume!" on ovarian cancer.
