Brampton - The City of Brampton, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, will host an information session on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 for nominees and potential candidates in the 2014 Municipal Election.
The info session will take place from 6:30 to 9 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 2 Wellington Street West, Brampton.
This new initiative aims to provide an overview of key requirements, including candidate eligibility and responsibilities, Election finances and campaigning etiquette, as well as information on key dates and the Sign and other by-laws.
Previously, candidates’ information sessions were held after the close of nominations for nominated candidates only. However, introducing a session for nominated and potential candidates earlier in the year enables contenders to be better informed of Election processes and reduces ambiguity. This is particularly useful for potential candidates to gain a better perspective of what is required of them should they choose to file their nomination.
This meeting is open to candidates who have filed their nomination and members of the public who are considering running in the 2014 Municipal Election
