Brampton - During the upcoming holiday season, many City of Brampton offices, including City Hall, will be closed to the public starting on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 12 pm and reopening on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 8:30 am. Residents will not be able to apply in person for marriage licences, pay parking fines or apply for building permits during this time. Essential services, such as Fire and Emergency Services, will continue to operate during this time. Most recreation facilities are open over the holidays. Please phone your local recreation centre to confirm the program schedule.
Brampton Animal Services For two days only – Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21 – the Brampton Animal Shelter is waiving the adoption fee for all cats, kittens and rabbits. Visit the shelter at 475 Chrysler Drive (south of Williams Parkway, west of Airport Road) and bring a new friend home for the holidays.

Ringing in the New Year The streets of Downtown Brampton will come alive at 7 pm on New Year’s Eve with free entertainment and activities for all ages. Visitors will be treated to performances by The Trews and The Carpet Frogs, a street carnival, food stalls and fireworks at 9 pm and midnight. Mayor’s New Year’s Day Levee Join Mayor Susan Fennell and Members of Council for the Annual Mayor’s New Year’s Day Levee at the Rose Theatre Brampton on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from noon to 3 pm. Doors open at 11:30 am. Music will be provided by The Brampton Concert Band and the Pipes and Drums of the Lorne Scots “Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment”.
Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony. Bring your skates and enjoy an afternoon of skating at Gage Park, weather permitting.
Brampton Transit Brampton Transit will operate on reduced service levels for the holiday season. Sunday/Holiday service will be in place on December 25, 2013 and January 1, 2014. Reduced weekday schedules will be in effect on December 23, 24, 27, 30 and 31 and January 2 and 3.
FREE New Year's Eve Service on all routes begins at 7 pm and includes extended service on some routes.
