Brampton - Nominations for the City of Brampton’s 2014 Municipal Election will be accepted by the City Clerk's Office beginning January 2, 2014 for the following offices:

• Mayor
• Regional Councillor
• City Councillor
• School Board Trustee for:
     o Peel District School Board
     o Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board
     o Conseil scolaire de district du Centre-Sud-Ouest
     o Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud

Nomination forms and information packages are available online and at the City Clerk’s Office in Brampton City Hall. Nominations must be filed in person (or by an agent) during regular office hours, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, on weekdays starting January 2 until 2 pm on September 12, 2014.

At the time of filing, the fee ($200.00 for Mayor, $100.00 for all other positions) is payable by cash, debit card, certified cheque or money order. Applicants will be asked for proof of citizenship and qualifying address. Only original documents will be accepted – no faxes or other electronic versions. Anyone who wants to be a candidate must file their nomination papers prior to receiving any campaign contributions or spending any funds for election purposes.

“The City of Brampton is committed to ensuring effective processes in delivering a fair and open municipal election,” says Peter Fay, City Clerk and Returning Officer. “Potential candidates and voters are also reminded to take note of the new wards that take effect for the 2014 Municipal Election.”
