Brampton - During the month of October, the City of Brampton encourages individuals, families, community groups, schools and businesses to help keep Brampton clean and green for Harvest Cleanup.

For as little as a few minutes, community members can support this important environmental initiative by picking up litter at any time or place, including parks, trails, sports fields, parking lots, and school yards.

Participants are invited to register their cleanup and collect a free Cleanup Kit, which includes sanitary gloves and bags, at a local recreation centre or arrange to have it delivered to their homes. At the end of each registered cleanup, participants can pre-arrange to have their litter bags collected through the Brampton Clean City Office.

Now in its 17th year, this annual fall event attracted more than 52,000 volunteers last year. Throughout the month, a series of activities will take place to encourage the cleanup program.

Youth Park and Trail Stewardship Program
Starting October 5, on Saturdays and Sundays, youth aged 13 to 18 can earn community service hours and meet new friends by volunteering to clean up a City park or trail from 10 am to 12 pm. Registration is required.

Corporate Challenge

The City invites community and business groups to register for the Corporate Challenge on October 25, from 12 to 2 pm, at Centennial Park. All participating organizations will receive a Cleanup Kit, BBQ lunch and refreshments.

Community Awareness Booths
Information, registration and supplies will also be available at Community Awareness Booths throughout the city on Saturdays in October from 10 am to 1 pm.
