Brampton - Informed by over 500 people from the community, a draft copy of Peel’s Housing and Homelessness Plan is now available for review and comment on priority setting.

The community is invited to “have a say” by:

·         Dropping into an Open House at the Region of Peel

o   7120 Hurontario: September 11, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. in Room MR2-421

o   10 Peel Centre Drive: September 12, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. in Brampton/Caledon Rooms

·         Hosting or joining a community consultation

·         Completing a short online survey individually or as a group

“This plan reflects the aspirations of the community,” said Janet Menard, Commissioner of Human Services for the Region of Peel. “Success will require the commitment of all levels of government and our community partners.”

In addition to engaging the community, a “Community Reference Group,” which consists of sector representatives across Peel, has played an active role in informing the plan. The draft plan has also been shared with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to fulfill a provincial requirement under the Housing Services Act 2011.

Based on the feedback received from the community, the final plan will be brought to Regional Council for approval.
