Brampton - The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of appointed Sheila McWatters to the position of Associate Director, Instructional Services. She replaces the retiring Ralph Borrelli and assumes her new role on the board’s executive team on July 1, 2013.

Sheila McWatters has had a 35-year career at Dufferin-Peel with extensive leadership experience. She began her career as a classroom teacher in 1978. She has also served as academic consultant, curriculum program leader and special education resource teacher, vice principal, principal, superintendent of schools, superintendent of special education and, since 2011, superintendent of program.

“Sheila McWatters brings a wealth of high level and practical experience, knowledge and leadership to the associate director’s position,” said John B. Kostoff, director of education. “With her in-depth background in special education, curriculum planning, development and implementation, along with her Catholic leadership experience, both in Dufferin-Peel and across the broader educational sector. The board has solidified its senior management team with Sheila’s appointment and we look forward to working with her in her new capacity.”

“The board is extremely pleased with the appointment of Sheila McWatters to the position of associate director,” said Mario Pascucci, chair of the board. “The fact of the matter is that Sheila has the depth of practical knowledge and experience, as well as the vision, to complement and add to the strong leadership we enjoy at Dufferin-Peel. As an educator and Catholic leader, her credentials are impeccable and we are well served by her appointment as associate director.”
