Brampton - The recently concluded Newcomers Bus Tours saw 120 people on board a fun-filled, information-driven ride. The overall response to the tours has been tremendous – so much so that every tour had a waiting list of participants. Both fun and educational, these free tours go a long way to making Brampton a more welcoming place for newcomers.

The Newcomer Tours began in 2009 as a joint project between the City of Brampton Clerk’s Office, Recreation Division, Brampton Transit, Brampton Library and community partners such as the LDS Toronto Temple and the Mandarin Restaurant. Tours are held twice a year in August and December. The theme of the summer tours is Brampton’s floral heritage while the winter tours showcase winter lights. Both tours provide information to new immigrants about programs and services in our
community.

Dates for registration for the winter tours will be announced on www.brampton.ca later in the year.
