Officers from the Peel Regional Police
Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are investigating an early morning
shooting in the Malton area of Mississauga, which left a 25 year-old
Toronto resident dead. This is Peel Regional Police’s seventh homicide
investigation of 2012.
On Sunday July 1, 2012, at approximately
2:09 a.m., officers responded to an address on Brandon Gate Drive, for a
report of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 25
year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local
hospital where he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
The victim has since been identified as Dennis ALEXANDER., a 25 year-old male resident of Toronto.
Mr. ALEXANDER
was in attendance at a large gathering at this address during the time
of the incident and investigators are urging any witnesses to come
forward to assist with this investigation.
Police will be using
whatever resources necessary to locate the suspect(s) responsible for
this shooting but they believe that this is an isolated incident.
