The Region of Peel advises that the hours of service for Human Services clients will change, effective Monday, May 28. As of Monday, in-person and telephone requests can be completed Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Unionized Human Services employees represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 966 have been on strike since Thursday, May 3.
Clients and residents are asked to please be patient as they may experience delays in-person or on the phone. Where possible, please complete your application online at
peelregion.ca/hsapply or through the mail.
As a result of the strike, the following Human Services programs and services are affected:
10 Peel Centre Dr., Brampton – Human Services Reception
Closed. New clients with pre-booked appointments are asked to access the 7120 Hurontario St. location in Mississauga. Employment Resource Centre will be closed, including access resource centre computers.

Open Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pre-booked appointments. Centre will be closed, including access resource centre computers.
Ontario Works
Applications will continue to be taken and clients will continue to receive their social assistance payments.
Housing Subsidy and Housing Waitlist
Applications will continue to be taken and applicants on the subsidy wait list will continue to be placed as units become available.
Child Care Subsidy
Applications will continue to be taken and children on the subsidy wait list will continue to be placed as spaces become available.
Employment Resource Centres – Brampton and Mississauga locations
Closed, including access resource centre computers. Clients currently attending or registered to begin employment training programs at non-Regional facilities will be able to attend during the disruption.
