Brampton - Registration is now open for the eighth annual Energy Matters Summit, taking place on May 28-29 at the Toronto Congress Centre. The Summit is hosted by the Region of Peel, in partnership with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Registration is available online at http://www.energymatterssummit.com/register.htm.

The Summit is hosted by the Region of Peel, in partnership with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). “One of the priorities for Peel Regional Council is to protect, enhance and restore the environment,” said Regional Chair and CEO Emil Kolb. “The Energy Matters Summit strives to create dialogue between local governments, public and private sectors as they share and learn about energy management practices, while taking ownership of environmental initiatives.”

Building Partnerships for a Sustainable Energy Future is the theme of this year’s Summit. The two-day conference joins some of the world’s most influential leaders from the field of energy management to support activities to reduce energy costs at a corporate level. In addition to networking opportunities and tradeshow access, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in workshops and seminars in four streams that focus on:

•Building Energy Efficiency
•Integrated Community Energy Solutions
•Smart Grid
•Energy in Sustainability

This year’s Summit also includes a keynote presentation by renowned author and speaker Alex Steffen, one of the world's leading voices on sustainability, social innovation and planetary futurism.
