Brampton – William Osler Health System’s Peel Memorial redevelopment project reached a key milestone with the release of a request for proposal to demolish and prepare the former hospital site for construction of the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.

In August, 15 companies submitted applications through a request for qualification (RFQ) to pre-quality to be part of the request for proposal (RFP) process. The RFQ is the first step in a competitive procurement process to select a company to demolish the existing buildings on the site.

The following eight companies were qualified through the RFQ and invited to bid on the project

- Aim Waste Management
-  Delsan-Aim Environmental
-  Elite Construction
-  Hazco Environmental
-  OSC Constructors
-  Priestly Demolition
-  Pro-Green Demolition
-  Quantum Murray

“We received high-quality submissions from local, national and international companies who are interested in this project,” said Ann Ford, Osler’s VP of Development and Support Services. “With the release of the RFP we are another step closer to activity on the site.”

Once the RFP submissions are received and reviewed, a preferred company will be selected. It is expected a contractor could be on site in late October.
