Brampton - Brampton Library will play host to Judy Fong Bates, author of The Year of Finding Memory as the next installment in its Canadian Author Series, with the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts through the Writers’ Union of Canada.
Brampton - Brampton Library will play host to Judy Fong Bates, author of The Year of Finding Memory as the next installment in its Canadian Author Series, with the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts through the Writers’ Union of Canada.
The Year of Finding Memory follows the author’s journey to China to learn more of the family history that seemed so distant and removed from her life growing up in her father’s hand laundry in small town Ontario.
“Opening with a shock as moving as the one that powers The Glass Castle, The Year of Finding Memory explores a particular, yet universal, world of family secrets, love, loss, courage and shame.
