Fun Avec French

On July 28th Solid Choice Services hosted The French Idol Charity Event which provided the audience with fun and entertainment. The evening started off with the 15 contestants singing "Bonne Fête" to all who celebrate a birthday in the month of July. Some members of the audience even got to participate in a hula hoop competition.

Entertainment was provided by all of the contestants as well as by Stéphanie Vibert who sang two lovely songs by Marie Elaine Thibert. Ashley Gallant and Julia Medina presented a humorous skit entitled "Les vacances au Mexique".

It was announced that Solid Choice Services would donate $60 to Foodpath for the purchase of baby formula as a birthday gift to those who celebrate their birthday in the month of July. This will be presented to Foodpath on July 31st along with the barrels of non-perishable food items donated by members of the audience.

The grand finale was the announcement of the winners. All contestants were presented with a medal. The winners received a trophy along with French publications. Their schools will be presented with French books in the fall. Chris Pimpirev won the French Song category. He sang two songs: 'Qu'est-ce que tu as dans ta maison?' and 'Un tout petit bikini'. Nicole Czekella-Torres won the French Poem category by reciting the poem 'Octobre'. The French Drama category was won by a team of two, Kaitlyn-Lee Mun and Mayela Lopez-Fernandez, who presented a funny skit entitled 'La fille avec le mal de dent'.
