Saturday's Morning Drive
P. O.
Heart Lake Secondary School
The sun is peaking its cerebral head
Both sky and sun are to be wed
The subtle roar of the green car
Driving on the newly paved tar
The birds are all around me
Singing their songs about how to be free
Driving on the roads of years
I catch my love's tears
Looking around the place
At the night's edge my eyes wander to space
The naked trees of fall
Leaves of red, yellow, and orange call
My old acoustic guitar slung on back
Nothing ever in this paradise, attack
Escape the urban suffocation
To world with lovely animation
Bright eyes look down
Put to death the Roman clown
Driving on a Saturday morn
As the phoenix rises, to be reborn
Clouds separate life and death
Winter, watching one's breath
Saturday's morning come alive
