The City of Brampton received a 5 star rating in the Over 50,000 population category of the 2009-2010 WinterLights Celebrations program. The annual awards ceremony was held in the City of Charlottetown in Prince Edward Island on March 6, 2010.

The City of Brampton has a very big heart, and although it is evident year round, it comes to a spectacular peak during the holidays when those who are fortunate work individually and together to help make the season special for everyone.

The Chinguacousy Park is magically decorated with displays and thousands of lights. This Park has added many new events to this winter wonderland of lights. A live nativity performed each weekend by the Latter Day Saints, performances by local bands, horse-drawn hay rides, large painted post cards created by school children and lighted Santa Claus parade floats on display is a free place for families to enjoy the festive season. This park will become a regional attraction that residents and visitors will enjoy year after year.

The City of Brampton is to be commended for their investment in the future of a regional attraction!

WinterLights Celebrations is the winter edition of the popular Communities in Bloom program and encourages all Canadians to join in their local community events and activities, and to experience the beauty and thrill of winter.
