Brampton - Investigators from the Homicide Bureau have made a fifth arrest in relation to the murder of a 38 year-old Brampton resident, George Kalogerakis.  A 17 year-old youth, of no-fixed-address, was arrested a short time ago, on Monday, November 23, 2009.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 12, 2009, officers were called to a residence located on Earth Star Trail. On their arrival, officers found the victim suffering from obvious signs of trauma. He was immediately taken, by ambulance, to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

A 17 year-old youth, of no-fixed-address, was arrested a short time ago, on Monday, November 23, 2009. He will be making a brief court appearance on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, where he will be formally charged with First Degree Murder.

Late last week, investigators received special judicial permission to release the youth's name and photograph. Upon his arrest, the release of any information leading to the identity of the suspect is no longer permitted. It is now considered a criminal offence to release any information that may identify the young offender.

To date, the following arrests have been made in this investigation:

-On Friday, November 20, 2009, investigators arrested Daniel COLACITO, a 36 year-old male.

-On Wednesday, November 18, 2009, investigators arrested Shevon BAILEY, a 21 year-old male, and a 15 year-old male, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act; and,

-On Saturday, November 14, 2009, investigators arrested Isaac KWAKYE, an 18 year-old male.

All four of these suspects were charged with First Degree Murder.
