Brampton - October is Small Business month in the Province of Ontario. To celebrate, the City of Brampton's Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC) is partnering with the Brampton Board of Trade to bring a number of events throughout the month to the city's business community.

"Small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs are key contributors to innovation, investment and job creation in Brampton," says Elaine Moore, Chair of the Economic Development and Communications Committee. "While we pay special tribute to them this month, their efforts are felt year round."

Events for the month include:
• a small business professional development day
• free lunch 'n' learn seminars, and
• business networking events.

The activities are topped off with the presentation of the Start-Up Business of the Year Award (SUBY) on November 12 at the Gigantic Networking Breakfast at Brampton Golf Club, 7700 Kennedy Road South.

For event details, registration and to apply for the SUBY, visit the SBEC website at www.brampton-business.com or call 905-874-2650. All events are free, except where indicated, thanks to the corporate sponsorship of Rogers and Shoppers World Brampton and partners Ontario Ministry of Economic Development & Trade and CanadaBusiness.ca
