Brampton - Thursday, July 1, a full day of family entertainment at the Powerade Centre in Brampton culminates in main stage performances by Big Sugar and Finger Eleven, followed by a spectacular fireworks display set to music.

Brampton celebrates at a new location this year on the grounds of the Powerade Centre, located at 7575 Kennedy Road South. Please note there is no parking on site for this event. Please take one of the free shuttles offered by Brampton Transit.

Families can enjoy family friendly entertainment at Bear Cub Base and young, hip, local talent on the Raw Stage. Monster Truck rides, massive bouncing castles and the always popular Midway will be part of the day along with high-flying circus acts, street performers and clowns, a rock climbing wall and FMX demonstrations.

On the main stage, fans will be thrilled to see Big Sugar re-united just for this event, along with co-headliners Finger Eleven. At 10 pm the skies overhead light up with a spectacular fireworks display set to music.

NO PARKING ON SITE
Residents are advised to take the free shuttle service provided by Brampton Transit – information available at: http://www.bramptontransit.com or walk/ bike to the event.

Brampton’s Canada Day Celebration offers many free activities. There are nominal fees for some of the attractions such as the midway. There will be high flying circus acts, street performers and clowns, rock climbing wall and FMX demonstrations to delight and thrill all.

10 am to 5 pm
Bear Cub Base is the place for family friendly entertainment. Performances on the Bell Canada Kids’ Stage include tribute artists from Teen Starz: Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, and the Jonas Brothers plus Max & Ruby Shrek - in his first live appearance in Canada - and more.

1 to 5 pm
Moose Mile will feature the RAW Stage packed with young local talent including Animatist, The Dead Lyres, Thief Dialect, Mineseye, and Beekeepers Society. Between sets, check out the mind boggling Motocross performances.

11 am to 4:45 pm
Goose Grove offers a more laid back brand of entertainment. Visit the Perfectly Aged Stage to experience an eclectic line up including a steel band, swing orchestra and even an interactive drum circle.

5 pm
Official Opening Ceremony will feature the Reaffirmation Ceremony, the singing of O Canada, speeches and the Canada Day Cake Cutting.

6 pm
Massari is setting a new standard for R&B music in Canada. The rhythms and melodies that showcase his Middle Eastern roots have brought him much success including the Top Ten hit “Be Easy”

7:15 pm
It’s official, Big Sugar fans will be hearing their hits “Diggin A Hole”, “If I Had my Way” and “Turn The Lights On” live again. For the first time since the final Hit and Run tour of 2003, the band has reunited and Brampton’s Canada Day Celebration is one of the first opportunities to check out these popular Canadian rockers.

8:45 pm
Alternative Canadian rock band, Finger Eleven is set to headline the main stage. The group's most recent album, "Them vs. You vs. Me", which contained Finger Eleven's most successful track: "Paralyzer” turned gold in March 2008 in the United States leading to the band's lengthy tour in support of their album as well as a recent tour with Kid Rock.

10 pm
Overhead will light up with a spectacular fireworks display set to music.
