Brampton - Carnival rides, life-size cartoon characters, craft vendors, circus performances, a musical showcase and a spectacular fireworks display – Canada Day, Wednesday July 1, at Donald M. Gordon Chinguacousy Park promises to be a great big day of family fun.
The Park is located east of the 410 on Queen Street between Central Park Drive and Bramalea Road.
Festivities begin at 10 am and run through 10 pm with a breathtaking fireworks display set to music. Official ceremonies begin at 6 pm with the traditional Legion March and singing of O Canada.

The day's festivities include:
Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends: 12 pm and 2:15 pm
Max and Ruby in Hide and Seek: 1:30 pm and 3:45 pm
Summer Jazz Festival (various bands): 12 – 8 pm
Skateboard and BMX –Try-it series: 12 – 5 pm
Official ceremonies, Legion March and cake cutting: 6 – 6:45 pm
Amanda Marshall: 8 – 10 pm
Canada Day Celebration Road Closures
On July 1, sections of certain roads near Chinguacousy Park will be closed to traffic to accommodate Canada Day celebrations:
- Goodwood Road from Bramalea Road to Goldcrest Road 10 am to 11:30 pm
- Central Park Drive from Kensington Road to Hanover Road 2 pm to midnight
- Queen Street from Dixie Road to Bramalea Road 2 pm to midnight
- Goldcrest Road from Central Park Drive to Glenvale Boulevard 7 pm to midnight
- Bramalea Road from Central Park Drive to Kensington Road 7 pm to midnight
- Queen Street from Bramalea Road to Torbram Road 7 pm to midnight
Brampton Transit - Free Shuttle Service to Chinguacousy Park Brampton Transit is offering free shuttle service from five pick-up and drop-off locations:
- Shoppers World Transit Terminal
- Downtown Brampton Transit Terminal
- Trinity Common Transit Terminal
- Mount Pleasant GO Station and
- Fortino's Plaza (55 Mountainash Road)
Shuttles depart from each location at 2:30 pm, operating every 30 minutes until 9:30 pm.The last three departures from the Park to the five pick-up and drop-off locations are: 10:30 pm, 11:00 pm and 11:30 pm. For regular service, Brampton Transit will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule including the Wonderland Express Service. Transit stores will be closed.
