Brampton - This is a last call for artists to submit their works for the Art Gallery of Peel's
36th Annual Juried Show of Fine Art between March 23 and 29.
The Annual Juried Show is open to everyone. Past shows have included students, seniors and working artists. All artists will remain anonymous until the winners are selected by the jurors.
"This show is full of variety and accepts any medium of work," says Judy Daley, Assistant Curator at the Peel Heritage Complex (PHC). "In the past, we've accepted submissions based on an artist's drawing. The artist then created the work directly on the wall of the gallery."
Artists may only submit one work. Works previously exhibited at the Art Gallery of Peel are not eligible for submission. To be eligible for the Annual Juried Show, artists must:
- Be a resident of Ontario;
- Submit an original work completed within the last 24 months;
- Ensure the work is suitably prepared for display and fits through a regular doorframe.
A non-refundable fee of $15 must accompany the entry form. A reduced fee of $12 is available for members of the PHC. Debit, Visa, MasterCard, cheques and cash will be accepted as payment. Please make cheques payable to the Art Gallery of Peel. Post-dated cheques will not be accepted. Entry forms are available at http://www.peelheritagecomplex.org/ and at the PHC at 9 Wellington St. E., Brampton.
Works that do not meet the above criteria will not be presented to the jurors. For a complete listing of requirements, visit http://www.peelheritagecomplex.org/.
Selections will be made on Monday, March 30 and artists will be notified by phone or e-mail of the jurors' decision by Thursday, April 2. Prizes will be awarded at the show's opening reception on Wednesday, April 8 and selected pieces will be on display until Sunday, May 17.
