The Peel Regional Police Homicide Bureau is investigating the death of a female party discovered in her Brampton apartment early Thursday morning.

On Thursday July 13, 2006, at approximately 2:00 a.m., acting on information that was received, uniform officers attended an apartment unit at 220 Steeles Avenue, where the body was discovered inside. There were obvious signs of trauma to the body and the Homicide Bureau were contacted. This is Peel Region's fourth homicide of the year.

The deceased has been identified as Malena MORALES, 31yrs of age, of Brampton.

The victim's body has been transferred to the Office of the Chief Coroner for a post mortem examination.
