Brampton - Tim Hortons store owners of Brampton were recognized on January 20, 2009 for their recent support of William Osler Health Centre Foundation's Here for you… caring for you Community Campaign totaling $175,000.

In addressing local Tim Hortons store owners, Anne Randell, President & CEO of the Foundation remarked "Today we celebrate a long-standing relationship between Tim Hortons and community health care in Brampton."

In recognition of their donations and support of Foundation events such as The Heart Walk and The Osler Open golf tournament, as well as proceeds from their Smile Cookie Campaign, a Patient Games Room and Activity Lounge within the RBC Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services is now dedicated to Tim Hortons, Brampton Stores.

"It is equally important with every generation to support mental health care at a community level," said Barry Stafford, one of a few Brampton store owners who participated in the event. "Choosing the area within Brampton Civic that helps kids was a good fit with our focus on children through the Tim Bits sports programs, but certainly all aspects of health care matter to our families."

In thanking Tim Hortons for their support, Alemka Mahalec, Manager, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services acknowledged that many youth who are cared for within the department's day program, are learning reintegration skills including academics and social skills. The Patient Lounge dedicated to Tim Hortons offers a secure space for education, arts and crafts and even has a Foosball table for youth to compete in true Tim Bits spirit!
