Brampton - Did you find a job in your field? Were there challenges you faced? Do you need skills training? The Region of Peel is partnering with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and the Diversity Institute at Ryerson University to conduct a major research project on Peel's labour market. The Peel Labour Market Survey is now open for public input at http://www.peelregion.ca/.

The survey will examine the labour market experiences of Peel residents to gain a better understanding of the talent pool available and how government and community stakeholders can best meet the needs and skills of the current and future labour market.

Survey participants must be 15 years of age or older; reside in the Region of Peel (Brampton, Caledon or Mississauga); and have looked for work in Canada within the past 10 years.

Participants will need from 15 to 30 minutes to complete the survey, depending on their profile. This survey asks questions about experiences searching for and obtaining work, education, foreign credentials, language skills, and overall experiences in the labour market and Canadian society. The survey is also available in Punjabi, Urdu and Chinese.

The Human Services Department supports full participation by all residents in the economic, social and cultural life of the Region by providing a continuum of supports for vulnerable or at-risk members of the community. The department works collaboratively with other community partners including local businesses and service providers in Peel to improve the opportunities and quality of life for children, families and individuals living in Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga.

The Regional Municipality of Peel was incorporated in 1974 on the principle that certain community and infrastructure services are most cost-effectively administered over a larger geographic area. The Region of Peel serves more than one million residents in the Cities of Mississauga and Brampton and the Town of Caledon.
