Brampton - Investigators from the Special Victims Unit have arrested and charged a 14 year-old suspect in relation to a sexual assault that occurred early last week.

On Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the victim, a 15 year-old Brampton girl, was walking through a pathway on Edenbrook Hill Drive, in the McLaughlin Road and Highway 7 area of Brampton.

At this time the victim was approached by the suspect and sexually assaulted.

One week later, on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, the suspect was identified and arrested for this sexual assault. The suspect is a 14 year-old Brampton boy, whose name cannot be released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The suspect will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, in Brampton, on February 24, 2009.

Brampton - Investigators from the Special Victims Unit are searching for a suspect involved in a sexual assault that occurred early last week.

On Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the victim, a 15 year-old Brampton girl, was walking through a pathway on Edenbrook Hill Drive, in the McLaughlin Road and Highway 7 area of Brampton.

At this time the victim was approached by the suspect and sexually assaulted.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, between 13 and 15 years of age. He was approximately 5'6" tall and 130 lbs. At the time of the incident, he had dry, chapped lips. The suspect was wearing bright blue jeans, a length green jacket and a black back pack. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

Peel Regional Police would like to remind people that you should always be aware of your circumstances and surroundings. You should also avoid short-cuts through parks, vacant lots, or unlit areas.
