Toronto - On Thursday, October 16 more than 30 women of different faiths, ages, cultures and backgrounds will gather at the first Habitat for Humanity Toronto "Women of Faith Build" in partnership with the Canadian Centre for Diversity. Located at the Peddicord build site in the Beach (Main and Kingston Road), this is an opportunity to build relationships while building decent, affordable homes and a brighter future for families in need.

The goals of the "Women of Faith Build" are to increase the profile of the need of affordable housing through faith-based organizations and to bring a diverse group of women together to share a meaningful intercultural experience

The Canadian Centre for Diversity has a mission: to educate a generation of young Canadian leaders about a society that celebrates diversity, difference, and inclusion. It is a leading Canadian provider of programs and communication initiatives that educate against discrimination, prejudice and bias and is an important resource for anyone seeking to play a proactive role in combating all forms of discrimination in Canadian society.

Habitat for Humanity Toronto and the Canadian Centre for Diversity share the common vision of a society where people can live without discrimination of any kind, including economic adversity.  By building decent, affordable homes, Habitat for Humanity provides partner families a hand up to enable them to live in a safe, healthy, and positive community.

Founded in 1988, Habitat for Humanity Toronto is a non-profit, non-denominational housing organization. Habitat welcomes all people without discrimination to join us to build simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with low-income families. One hundred percent of all administrative and fundraising costs are paid for by the operation of three ReStores, which sell donated, quality new and gently-used renovation materials. Internationally, Habitat for Humanity has built more than 300,000 homes with families in need in over 100 countries. Every 10 minutes, Habitat for Humanity builds a new home.
