Brampton - On Sunday September 21st over 800 supporters, community leaders and dignitaries gathered at the the Pearson Convention Centre for the Ruby Red Gala to celebrate Dr. Dhalla's 4 years of success as the Member of Parliament for Brampton-Springdale.
The evening was a tremendous success. The opening ceremonies began with a multicultural procession of a Bhangra performance, Aboriginal Chinese Fan Dance and Youth Hip Hop performance by Jade's Hip Hop Academy. The Gala recognized Dr. Dhalla's achievements over the past 4 years highlighting her work in the riding and in Ottawa. Her speech for the evening focused on the importance of giving all Canadians a voice.
"Over the past 4 years it has been a privilege to work with the constituents of Brampton Springdale. During this time, I have learned that politics is really a calling to make a difference in society. It's a calling to be a voice for those who struggle to be heard and to help build the type of nation we want for ourselves and our children."
"Moving forward, we must work together to empower Canadians with the hope for a better tomorrow. We must empower women, youth and ethnic communities, with the right resources and tools for them to succeed in building the Canada that we all desire."
Dr. Dhalla thanks her supporters, volunteers, staff and community members for their dedication and commitment in helping her achieve her vision of a strong Brampton community.
