Through Our Eyes

Brampton - Brampton Library is inviting all seniors to share their memories as part of an exciting local history project aimed at bringing to life Brampton's history.

"Through Our Eyes: History, Diversity and Community" will pay tribute to the community by highlighting seniors' experiences and memories of living in Brampton.

Seniors can participate in several ways:
·  Written stories
·  Photographs
·  Original artwork
·  On-camera interviews

Seniors who need assistance telling their stories have the option of meeting with a project volunteer who can write their stories for them.

Written submissions and images will be included in a professionally printed book of memories. All content will be made available to the community as part of the Library's collection.

An information session will be held at 10 a.m. on September 25th at the Four Corners location.

Also appearing will be guest speaker Peter Dennis of the TYL Legacy Foundation, who will talk about how and why to write your life stories as well as TYL's "My Brampton Memories" contest.

For more information, or to participate in this unique initiative, please call the Library at (905) 793-4636 and ask for Chanda Gilpin (ext. 4228; cgilpin@bramlib.on.ca) or Sarala Uttangi (ext. 4353; suttangi@bramlib.on.ca).
