Brampton - The Toronto Independent Music Awards ceremony took place on Thursday, July 31st, 2008 at the Phoenix Concert Theater. It was definitely STRONGER. MORE ESTABLISHED. BIGGER. BETTER. Thanks to everyone for coming out! With a sold out show, amazing performances, $60,000 in industry connected prizes, over 60 major and grassroots media and photographers in attendance and a phenomenal night, we couldn't ask for more!
Brampton's Dame are proud and ecstatically happy to announce that the 4th Annual Toronto Independent Music Awards, held at The Phoenix, rendered them victorious in The Best Alternative Rock category. As well, they dominated the field for Best Song, taking first place in a tie for both of their songs, "Cyclops" and "Intervention". The crowd went wild for the hard-rockin' Brampton trio as they accepted their honours, and again when they presented for the Best Punk category. Winning two titles in the ever-growing TIMA's will see Dame collect numerous prizes from various industry sponsors in the Toronto area, in addition to the commemorative plaque that was presented to them onstage.
Further accolades will include their own AudioSpace mashup featured in MXPLAY, an upcoming live performance on 89.5 CIUT, audio and video press coverage from The Spill, promotions from Truth.Explosion Magazine, studio time from Fat Labs, and radio distribution from RDR Music. Congratulations girls; well done!
