Brampton - On Monday, May 12, 2008, at about 8:30 a.m., the male suspect entered the No Frills located at 70 Clementine Drive. The suspect asked to speak with an employee in regards to employment opportunities. The victim, a 33 year old resident of Brampton, and employee of the store, approached the suspect to speak with him.

For reasons that are still under investigation, the suspect then stabbed the victim and fled the store. He was apprehended by police a short distance away.

Mahmood BAYET, 23 years of age from Brampton, has been charged with Aggravated Assault. He was held pending a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday, May 12, 2008.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
