  Grade 1 French Immersion Students
Have Fun French Event

Brampton, ON, May 6, 2008 - In order to provide grade 1 French Immersion students from Oakville an opportunity to attend a French event, the Canadian Parents for French Halton Chapter recently sponsored a "Fabulous French Night" in partnership with Solid Choice Services.  On April 1st, twenty-five students, from Forest Trail Public School, Linbrook Public School, Pine Grove Public School, and Sunningdale Public School were assembled at the Oakville Central Library for Oakville's first "Fabulous French Night".

The evening started with French Story Time.Mlle Felicia and Mme Lisa read a combination of six stories to the children.Among some of the stories were "Le chat du magicien", and "Petit nuage".  The students where then divided into groups. Each group had the opportunity to rotate among three different centres of French activities.  Mlle Caroline and Mlle Natasha ensured that the students had fun while speaking in French at the "Ball Tossing" activity; Mlle Nicole and Mlle Ashley guided the students through several French "Hangman" games; and Mlle Felicia and Mme Lisa entertained the children with a variety of other French games and activities.

The Canadian Parents for French Halton Chapter along with Solid Choice Services succeeded in providing a fun French event.  The students got to listen to some entertaining French stories as well as speak in French while having fun with typical French Club games and activities. The parents were also given an opportunity to see the benefits of the programs offered by Solid Choice Services.

Solid Choice Services specializes in helping French Immersion students from Peel and Halton improve their French language skills. The programs offered allow students to practice French with an element of fun. For more information, contact us!
