Brampton - The William Osler Health Centre Volunteer Association Gift Shop hosted its official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at Brampton Civic Hospital on Tuesday, April 22.
Mayor Susan Fennell brought greetings from the City of Brampton and presented a plaque to the William Osler Health Centre Volunteer Association to commemorate the event. After a few words of congratulations from the WOHC Volunteer Association, the WOHC Foundation and the Health Centre, attendees were invited to tour the Gift Shop and view the beautiful new merchandise displays.Osler volunteers were on hand to distribute chocolates and remind visitors to participate in gift raffles which were held throughout the day.
The Gift Shop has a wide selection of unique gifts, floral arrangements and market flowers as well as baby supplies, ladies' wear, jewellery and accessories.
"We are very pleased to bring this service to our patients and families," says Elizabeth Tschirhart, the Gift Shop's Manager. "Our new gift shop is also convenient for staff and physicians. They no longer have to rush to the mall after a busy day – they can find a unique gift right here during their lunch hour, and at a comparable price."
The friendly volunteers in the Gift Shop will take telephone orders (905- 494-2120, ext 50452) and deliver flowers and gifts to patients when friends or family members cannot visit their loved one.
The William Osler Health Centre Volunteer Gift Shop is located on the main level of the hospital across from the main entrance. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 9:30 am to 8 pm, Saturday, Sunday and holidays11 am to 5 pm. Debit and major credit cards are accepted.
The Gift Shop at Brampton Civic Hospital is owned and operated by the William Osler Health Centre Volunteer Association. Proceeds support William Osler Health Centre.
