Peel - On Saturday, April 26, 2008, from 2:00pm – 7:00pm, EcoSource and the Peel Environmental Youth Alliance (PEYA) will be showcasing young musical, performing and visual artists at Earth Beat. This Earth Day celebration takes place rain or shine, at the Mississauga Central Library Square at 301 City Centre Drive in Mississauga.

"Earth Beat is intended to elevate youth voices on environmental awareness, and to provide a space for young artists to learn from established, environmentally conscious artists," says Natalyn Tremblay, EcoSource Secondary Schools Coordinator. "Our programming reflects the diversity of creative youth expressions in Peel as they extend environmental culture through music, visual and performing arts."

Earth Beat is a family event that offers a variety of arts workshops, sustainable vendors and food, performances from emerging and established artists, live mural painting and children's activities, all geared towards raising awareness and celebrating the Earth.

EcoSource is an innovative organization that empowers the community to become more environmentally responsible through creative public education. Our vision is to move public attitudes and perceptions about environmental issues toward responsible personal action.

PEYA is a network of action-oriented students in the Peel Region concerned about environmental issues and determined to make positive change. PEYA provides a forum to share student ideas, support to other students and teachers looking to create environmental projects, and fun and effective educational events.
