Mississauga - On Monday, April 7, 2008, at approximately 7:15 p.m., police were called to a rooming house on Shallford Road in Malton. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an altercation had taken place between two males, one of whom suffered serious injuries. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Further investigation by homicide detectives has resulted in an arrest in Peel's ninth murder.

Romeo KANHAI, 44 years old of Mississauga, has been charged with Second Degree Murder.  He will be making a brief court appearance on Thursday, April 10, 2008, where he will be remanded in to custody.
