Mississauga - On Monday, April 7, 2008, police were called to a rooming house on Shallford Road in Malton. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an altercation had taken place between two males, one of whom suffered serious injuries.  The victim is identified as Keith Shortridge, 43 years old of Malton.

Monday, April 7, 2008, at approximately 7:15 p.m., police were called to a rooming house on Shallford Road in Malton. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an altercation had taken place between two males, one of whom suffered serious injuries. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The victim is identified as Keith SHORTRIDGE, 43 years old of Malton. A post mortem examination is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, 2008.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Homicide Bureau are investigating the Region's 9th murder of 2008. 

On Monday, April 7, 2008, at approximately 7:15 p.m., police were called to a rooming house on Shallford Road in Malton. Investigation has revealed that an altercation took place between two males, one of whom suffered serious injuries. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Officers have set up the Peel Regional Police's mobile command post at the scene to assist with canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses to this homicide. Investigators are in the process of interviewing several persons who were present in the residence.

The victim's identification will not be released, pending notification of next of kin.
