Brampton Minor Basketball Association
Since 1979, The Brampton Minor Basketball Association (BMBA) has been dedicated to teaching youths ages 7-18 to play and enjoy the game of basketball. From grass-roots development to our elite development representative teams, our goal is to continually establish a program that will provide an atmosphere to challenge all participants, allowing them to develop at their own pace.  Each year we place close to 1,300 participants in our winter/summer house and rep team leagues. BMBA emphasizes fair play, respect and community service. Over the years we have seen the growth and enjoyment of this wonderful sport soar in our community.

  Provincial Championship

Brampton - The Brampton Minor Basketball Association (BMBA) started off the 2008 provincial season this past weekend, with the Novice, Atom and Major Atom Boys.

Already we have a Provincial Champion...

Congratulations to the Atom Boys #1 team and Coach Mark Wharton, for winning the Atom Boys Division 1 Gold Medal. Job Well Done guys!

Also, congratulation goes out to the Major Atom boys #1 team and Coach Mark Poyser for capturing the Major Atom Boys Division 1 Bronze Medal.

Again, job well done! Winning a medal in Div 1 is no easy task.

Our #2 teams also performed exceedingly well. The Atom Boys #2 team won a 4th place medal in Division 2, and our Major Atom Boys #2 made it to the Division 2 quarterfinals, where they lost a heartbreaker by 2 points to a team (Oakville Vytis) that beat them by over 20 points earlier in the season. Kudos to Coach John Taylor (Atom Boys #2) and Wayne Johnson (Major Atom Boys #2) for great season- these are both first year teams mainly comprised of kids, who last season, were playing House league. You both far exceeded expectations.

So that's four teams - one Div 1 Gold, one Div 1 Bronze, and one Div 2 4th place. Let's keep the ball rolling ladies & gentlemen.

Up next, the Major Bantam girls - go get them girls!!
