There's been an executive shakeup at Brampton Civic Hospital amid community complaints about service and patient care at the facility.
Three members of the hospital's top brass, including chief executive Robert Richards, as well as his chief nursing officer and financial executive have resigned and it's expected more departures will happen in the weeks and months to come.
Since the hospital opened in October of 2007 it has been beset by complains from those who use it about long wait times in the ER and claims of poor care, which some suggest contributed to two deaths.
About 1,500 people participated in a protest march last month over service there, and on December 31 Health Minister George Smitherman appointed a supervisor to look into the claims.
The $790 million hospital has 479 beds.
Ken White, who's heading up the probe, says managerial dismissals and more voluntary departures will happen in next couple of months, paving the way for improved care at the facility.
