Description = Wellspring Chinguacousy provides a wide range of cancer support programs and services, at no charge, to meet the emotional, social, psychological and informational needs of people living with cancer, and those who care for them.

Title = Peer Support Volunteer

Job Description = Peer Support Volunteers are cancer patients or family members of cancer patients.They speak privately and in confidence with those seeking support at Wellspring to address the needs and concerns that brought them to Wellspring.Peer Support Volunteers share information about their own experiences and, in doing so, provide comfort, hope and practical information about coping with cancer.Peer Support Volunteers also provide program information; suggestions for programs to meet the needs expressed, and assist in registration.

Skills = To quality for this role, volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and have had cancer, or cared for a cancer patient.

Skills to learn = Supportive listening

Time = 3 hours per week

Location = 5 Inspiration Way, Brampton
