City of Brampton Canada Day Holiday Schedule

Brampton City Hall will be closed on Monday, July 3, for Canada Day impacting a number of services such as Finance, Legal Services, Management Services, Public Works and the Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC). As a result, residents will not be able to apply for marriage licences, pay parking fines, apply for employment with the City of Brampton, and apply for building permits or register/search business names.

During the Canada Day weekend, Brampton Transit will be operating on a modified schedule. On Friday, June 30, Brampton Transit will run on its regular weekday service. On Saturday, July 1, Transit will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule; however, Route 77 will operate on its regular Saturday service. On Sunday, July 2, buses will operate on their regular Sunday service and Monday, July 3, Transit will maintain its regular weekday service. Concessions will be open on Monday, July 3, but the administration office will be closed.

On July 1, Brampton Transit will be providing free shuttle service to the Canada Day fireworks at Donald M. Gordon Chinguacousy Park. Buses will depart at 7 p.m., 7:10 p.m., 9 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. from the Shoppers World, Trinity Common and Downtown Terminals. Shuttle service will also be available after the festivities leaving the park at 10:40 p.m., 10:45 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. to these same terminals. An additional bus will run from the Bramalea Transit Centre to the park departing every 30 minutes from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. On July 1, Brampton Transit will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday Service, however, the administration office and all Transit concessions will be closed.

On July 1 and 2, during the 2006 National Triathlon Championships, Routes 12 and 14 will detour from their regular routes. They will detour on Saturday, July 1, from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Sunday, July 2, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular service will commence after the indicated times on both days.  For more information please call 905-874-2999 or visit the Brampton Transit website at www.brampton.ca.

Public Works crews will operate only on an emergency basis. For complaints dealing with municipal by-law enforcement, road obstructions and parking, residents can call the City's after hours line at 905-458-3424.
