Ontario Stewardship Rangers return
for another season at Claireville
Brampton - The Ontario Stewardship Rangers youth employment program is run by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. The 2007 program employed youth born in 1990 for the summer to help local conservation initiatives.
A group of youth participating in the Ontario Stewardship Ranger program had the opportunity to spend their summer at the Claireville Conservation Area. This summer, the Rangers completed a variety of projects including cattail transplants and aquatic plantings, installing bird and fish habitat, as well as monitoring tree plantings and water quality in the Humber River. While the work is grueling at times, the personal development experienced by the crew will be hard to match, and the daily hands-on work has given these youth a foothold in natural resource management. Thanks for your all hard work at Claireville!
