Brampton - The Knights Table provides a basket of five food programs to those affected by poverty and hunger.  We have exhausted our van and are in frantic need to purchase a new (or new to us) truck.  Please help us raise the remaining $34,500 needed to "drive away hunger".

The wheels on the truck will come to a screeching halt and hundreds will go hungry

Brampton - The Knights Table provides a basket of five food programs to those affected by poverty and hunger.  We have exhausted our van and are in frantic need to purchase a new (or new to us) truck: one ton, refrigerated with tailgate to continue to pick-up and distribute food on a daily basis.  Your help is needed to raise the $34,500 needed to "drive away hunger".

We have gained the support of Bruce Haines (Green Party of Ontario) and Vicky Dhillon (City Councillor) who will champion the rally to generate enough money to buy this much-needed vehicle.  We estimate the cost to be $60,000.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Kiwanis, the group is prepared to offer us $7,500 based on a dollar for dollar match from the community.  Additionally, the Knights are set to launch their own membership drive with the expectation to raise $16,000.

Our recent event, Ride to End Hunger held on August 19th, generated a little over $2,000 that too will be applied to the acquisition.  Despite lower than expected riders, those that attended had a great day!  It was an honor and privilege to have Regional Councilor, Paul Palleschi lead the riders from Hooters in Brampton to their scenic venture through Brampton, Caledon and Erin.

Now… the necessity is to come up with the reminder-- $34,500.  We are looking for corporations, individuals and other service clubs to help take a piece of the pie! 69 donations of $500 will get the truck rolling.

This is YOUR CALL TO ACTION--- pledge $500 or more in the next 60 days.  Cheques can be written to Knights Table and mailed to: 116 Kennedy Road, South, Unit 6, Brampton, ON. L6W 3E7.  Please mark in the memo section of the cheque, "drive away hunger".  As a community, let's purchase this vehicle before the month of December and drive away hunger.
