Brampton - brampton.com is pleased to announce the completion of our first year pilot project, partnering with the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board to publish exemplary writing pieces submitted by students in several Brampton elementary schools, as well as Marguerite D'Youville Secondary School.

The project's primary goal was to encourage students to raise their level of writing, submitting work with the distinct knowledge that thousands of online visitors would potentially read their published stories. Hundreds of pieces were submitted during the months of May and June, and with the help of local teachers twenty-seven individual pieces were chosen and published at brampton.com, as well as thebramptonnews.com.

Special thanks goes out to Peter Yan at Marguerite D'Youville for his work in co-ordinating the project, as well as our corporate sponsor Bill Charles, Regional Director Brampton, Investors Group. Initial feedback has been extremely positive, and hopes are that the project will be expanded to many other schools in Brampton for the 2007-2008 school year.

A complete list of published submissions can be viewed online at http://www.brampton.com/writing.php
