Letters of a High School Student

By Kristen L.

Notre Dame Secondary School
Brampton

L.  The letter L represented a lot for her today.  It represented the LIARS she realized some of her friends were.  It represented the constant LABELLING of her social status and the LOGOS on her clothing.  It represented the fact that no matter how hard she worked, things always ended up LATE.   It represented how sometimes, she felt as if the LIGHT that shone inside her was gone.  It represented how her family and friends always managed to push her to her LIMITS.  It represented the time she actually believed it when her peers called her a LOSER.  L.

I.  The letter I represented a lot for her today.  It represented the INSULTS that we sent her way.  It represented how she reached out to someone today, but they just IGNORED her.  It represented the IMMATURITY she was surrounded by, even though her friends were already considered adults.  It represented the IMMORAL acts she witnessed everyday while IMPRISONED between her high school walls.  It represented her need to IMPRESS people.  It represented the fact that no matter how hard she studied, her grades were always INCONSISTANT, much like her behaviour.  I.

F.  The letter F represented a lot for her today.  It represented her FRIENDS and how they were less then supportive.  It represented her FUSTRATION and how disappointed she was with herself.  It also represented the FAIL that was written in big, bold, condescending red letters across her history paper.  It represented the fact that she was loosing FAITH in herself.  It represented her FAMILY and how sometimes they felt like strangers.  It represented the FEAR she had about the FUTURE.  It represented how FAKE some people were.  F.

E.  The letter E represented a lot for her today.  It represented the EGOS some people had.  It represented the EMPTINESS she felt inside.  It represented how at just 16, she already had a barrel full of ENEMIES that were just waiting for their chance to EXPLOIT her.  It represented the EVIL in society.  It represented the fact that her code of ETHICS didn't really match those of anyone ELSE now a days.  It represented the mis-match of EMOTIONS she was feeling.  It represented the ENDLESS amount of work she had to do, and how anxiety was beginning to set in about it all.  E.

No one said that life was going to be easy.  It's up to you though, on how you choose to look at it.

L.  The letter L represented a lot for her today. It represented the LOVE she felt from her friends and family.  It represented the LOYALTY her friends had for her, when they stood up for her against a bully that had been bothering her.  It represented how everyday she was LEARNING LIFE LESSONS, and how they were making her a better person day by day.  It represented that LONELINESS is easily cured by LAUGHTER.  It represented the fact that sometimes, everybody needs a little LIFT.  It represented actually LIVING and taking risks, without worrying about the outcome.  L.

I.  The letter I represented a lot for her today.  It represented the fact that she learned that INTELLIGENCE is not best judged in a classroom with books.  It represented how she wasn't afraid to IMAGINE what would become of her in the future anymore.  It represented her IMPERFECTIONS and instead of hiding them, she had learned to embrace them, since they weren't going anywhere any time soon.  It represented the fact that there was no such thing as perfect, but there was such a thing as IMPROVEMENT.  It represented INSPIRATION and how inspired she felt when she thought of those she loved.  It represented how no matter what she felt like on the outside, it was what was on the INSIDE that counts.  I

F.  The letter F represented a lot for her today.  It represented her FREEDOM, and how although there was a lot of pressure on her and work to be done, sometimes a little FUN was necessary.  It represented how FADS come and go, but FAMILY and true FRIENDS are FOREVER.  It represented how she learned that FAILURE doesn't mean the end of the world, but loosing FAITH in yourself does.  It represented how going with the FLOW sometimes takes you to where you wanted to go anyways.  It represented how she learned that although life may not be FAIR, it didn't mean that she couldn't be.  It represented the fact that making a FOOL outside yourself while having fun isn't nearly as embarrassing as people said.  F.

E.  The letter E represented a lot for her today.  It represented how she learned that being EASY GOING doesn't have to mean being a slacker.  It represented how being ECLECTIC was much more satisfying then conforming.  It represented the fact that she had learned that ECSTACY was not just a drug, but an emotion.  It represented the EDUCATION she got; in school, and out.  It represented her EXPERIENCES and how without them, she wouldn't be who she was today.  It represented how EXCELLENCE was not something measured by academics or awards, but on EFFORT.  E.

Life. Life is what happens when you make other plans.  It's what happens when you'rer born and what ends when you pass away.  But how you look at life plays a huge part of where you end up, and more importantly, the path you took to get there.
